Trax part 2: time to pick the pumpkins

Maggie was pretty quick to scale through the piles of pumpkins to find hers, but Fionn well...he took a little longer, dug through a few more to find that PERFECT one...

Trax Part one

I won't lie, this is another "catch up" post, but by now you've all forgiven me and realize that we're trying to get back on track with our posting. I can also tell you, this won't be the last. We've been quite busy, so things are going to be out of order for a little while. We have a big trip planned home this weekend, AND I'm getting ready to go on a business/fun trip in two weeks, so LOTS more to tell you about soon.

On Saturday the 10th, we got up nice and early and headed out to Trax Farms. It's about 10-15 miles out of the city and it was a nice little drive. Greg had to work in the afternoon, like he does most Saturdays, and even though it was cloudy and drizzling while we got ready, we thought we would brave it anyway. We were so happy we did. By the time we drove down there, the sun was shining and we were peeling off layers.
First stop, the petting zoo. The animals were VERY friendly. Like in your face, chew your jacket, kinda friendly. But that didn't stop my kids. They arn't your normal "city" kids. They barreled right through the sheep, pigs, goats, llamas and other assorted animals with glee.Funny...no one wanted to be the piggy...I know there's a third person back there....hmmmm.We saw a fun little train running around and the kids decided they wanted to ride it. Fionn was soooo excited!
I mean really. Look at that face.We gave the conductor our tickets, and waited. The ride started. And Fionn melted. He was content just watching sissy go at that point. As long as I stopped taking his picture that is...this is his "beat it paparazzi" face.
He did want to ride the tractor at least. That was more his speed.

Dancing Queen...and King

Okay now that you've all picked yourselves back up off the floor, you are NOT dreaming...yes indeed there is ANOTHER post from me today. I'm not saying the dry spell is over, the next few months are SUPER busy, but I'm trying my hardest!
My children LOVE to dance, they ADORE it. Yes, both of them. In return, it makes ME adore THEM even more. I warned you in the last post that they had a FABULOUS time at Drew and Kelly's wedding and they did dance the night away. Well Fionn did when he wasn't stealing cookies from the cookie table or hiding under the cake table, but either way he danced all that sugar away...

This last picture is especially sweet because Maggie went up to the DJ and requested he play a song that she could dance with HER daddy to, and he happily obliged.
Talk about melting my heart!

A Perfect Night for a Wedding!

Last Friday, after a LONG and accident prone day, we met up with Greg at our friends Andrew and Kelly's wedding.
Daddy was the best man, so he left earlier in the day with Drew to go do "best man" stuff and I stayed home and got the kids ready when Mag got home from school.
It was not easy getting myself AND both of them ready for a wedding alone, keeping Fionn clean is almost virtually impossible these days, but we did the best we could. Maggie's dress was silk, so I was just waiting for a major meltdown and something getting on it before we left. BUT, we made it. Only five minutes late for the actual ceremony, but in our defense we had to go through rush hour traffic to get OUT of Pittsburgh for their wedding. Kelly was beautiful, and the church was aglow with candle light. We got there just in time for their vows, so the kids and I sat in the back row and just took it all in.
There was a little mix upon the way to the reception, since it was just the kids and I, and we were in uncharted territory. We found it after a couple turn-arounds, and a stop for gas though and made it there just before the wedding party.
We ate, danced, and had a great night. Once again, no full family pictures. But here are just a few that I did get. The dancing ones are a whole post in and of themselves, but enjoy these ones. I may be jaded, but boy do I think my family is beautiful. Thank you Lord, for I am truly blessed!

Albion Fair Slide show

You'll have to forgive my lack of posts, I've just not been up to posting. Everyday runs into the next and before I know it another week has passed. I've started multiple posts, then have been pulled away and have yet to finish one. So today, my goal is to finish a post! I've been working on this slide show all week, and it's long, but to us, it's love. It's home. We hope you enjoy it.

Seriously, WARNING, this slide show is LONG!

SPS Spirit Walk

This is the second year that Maggie's school has done a "Spirit walk" to help raise money for the school. Last year, despite rain the kids all went out and walked around Crafton to show off their school spirit. On the day of the spirit walk they are all allowed to dress down(not wear their uniforms) but instead wear their gym sweats with the school name on them. This alone makes it a big day!
Last year Maggie did a great job raising money for the school in a short time. Since we live IN the city of Pittsburgh it's not like we let her go door to door, so this is her place to ask everyone for a little help. All you need now it to pledge. One dollar to...is accepted! Then contact me and I'll tell you where to send you donations by next week. Maggie's school is SMALL to say the least, and with the state budget still not passed here in Pennsylvania, it's hurting right now. Please join us in supporting not only Maggie, but St. Philip's. The education she receives there is beyond words.
Thank you all for your help.
