More vacation fun!

We stayed pretty busy the week we were home. We had play dates with a couple of our friends, and Maggie and Luke made us pizza for lunch when they came over for a little visit! It was wonderful actually, I was impressed.

We went to Little Gramma and Harry's one night for dinner and Maggie learned who the smurfs were that night. lol, she had no idea and had fun playing with toys that were Greg and Aunt Shelli's when they were kids. Dinner was wonderful and Fionn gave Gramma a run for her money while he was there! Another night we went to the playground at the elementary school and Fionn took his first ride on a slide. He and Pop-pop raced Maggie down the slides! We were stalked by a stray can and Maggie thought we needed to take it home to take care of it. Let's just say the silly cat lost one of it's nine lives while we were walking home and it finally disappeared! It was a scary moment and I thought we were going to have to bury a kitty to appease a traumatized little girl, but the cat made it out of the road just in time with an amazing six foot leap into the cattails along the road!

That weekend we went to Aunt She's and had a great weekend with her. We did a little shopping, i know schocking! lol Saturday evening we went with her and Uncle John to the Knox picnic at the zoo. This year is was a private evening at the zoo, and Maggie was sooo excited. And as you can see, so was Fionn. We haven't been to the Erie zoo in over a year and Maggie was literally counting down the minutes until she could see Lela again! We walked around for a little while before dinner, and then the clouds started rolling in right after dinner. We only had gotten around the top loop, and we figured we better skip the train if we wanted to see anything else. Those clouds came in faster than we even thought, and we never made it past Lela! We tried waiting out the rain but it just came faster and harder, so we have no choice but to make a run for it. When Maggie made that run her precious elephant that she had painted on her arm disappeared and she was slightly traumatized! Everyone(but Fionn) was soaked and needless to say, the picnic was over early! Maggie was really bummed so we promised we would go back another time this summer! The rest of the weekend with Aunt She and John was wonderful, and we are sad that we don't get more time with them!!

On Sunday we headed back to Mema and Pop-pops to await Daddy's arrival. It was the first time Fionn had been away from him(and for a week at that) and he was really out of sorts by Sunday! He wasn't sleeping like normal and he was confused i think about what was going on. Greg worked LATE and then drove home after work to be with us again. As you can see, Fionn was much happier as soon as daddy was home! We were all better once daddy was back with us.

Okay...so that was our week at home! I'm sorry that July was a horrible month for us keeping in touch, life was crazy to say the least!! I promise that I'll try to catch everyone up this week. I can't believe that it's August already, so much has happened and Fionn has already changed so much. I know this post will probably have a different date, this was saved as a draft for awhile while i worked on it!!

A day in the sun!!

So it's been a busy month to say the least, and I honestly thought this post had already been posted, but instead it was in the "drafts" folder!! So i just erased it and started over. Sorry I've been such a slacker, but we've been in Erie for most of the month it seems!! Okay here we go! Updates!
Fionn and I spent the 4th alone while Maggie was in Erie with Mema and Pop-pop, Aunt Shelli, Uncle Bill and the rest of the clan for Aunt Shelli's annual 4th of July picnic! Daddy traded his early shift with another nurse at work who has young kids because he thought Fionn and I were coming home with Maggie. So it was just Fionn and I watching the fireworks from downtown Pittsburgh on TV!! A few days later we came home, and I was home with the kids for over a week. Greg was with us for a couple days, and we introduced Fionn to the pool!!
So here is the kick-off to July! Fionn actually liked the pool, just not so much his sunglasses!!

Busy Busy weekend!

Last week was a pretty busy, but fun week for us. Maggie finished up T-ball, and since we knew that she would be headed north this week with Mema and Pop-pop we tried to get some family events in first to distract her while they were in Guatemala. Friday we went to the zoo to "check on the mommy elephants" No babies yet, but any day now! We got up close and personal with the elephants and Maggie was in her glory! One of the pregnant females was in the water and right by the fence. We actually got sprayed by her once, so Mags(who was on Greg's shoulders)thought it was awesome. We love the Pittsburgh Zoo, no matter how often we go, we see different things every time we go!!
On Saturday after Maggie's last T-ball game I took the kids to the Science Center. We haven't been there since the first week we moved down here, and Maggie was really into it this time. She loves science, it's kinda cool. She likes seeing how things work. We stayed a lot longer than I thought we would. There was a fruit flambe show that was pretty cool. Too bad Fionn was fussy the whole time so i stood in the back with him, and let Maggie go up front! It was the only thing I really wanted to see all day.
On Sunday I took the kids on a "Good Ship Lollipop Cruise" Sunday down on The Gateway Clipper. It was an ice cream social river cruise and Maggie LOVED IT! All it really tells you is that they have Bruester's ice cream, not that there is a Magician and a DJ as well. They ate their ice cream and were amazed as we cruised under all the bridges. After that it was a wild and crazy dance party until the Magician started his show. And yes, the magician was actually great! I highly recommend this cruise to any of you, it's a great two hours to spend with the kids cruising down the river. There is a little bit for everyone. I had fun going up on the top deck and looking around. I saw parts of Pittsburgh that i never knew about! We went on the Cruise with Maggie's friend Grace and her Mom and family, so they had a blast. It was a girls day on the river!!
Besides all that, we just kept busy with Fionn and tried to get some time with daddy when he was home from work. Monday was an all day count down(starting at 7:45am) asking when we were leaving to go pick up Mema and Pop-pop from the airport! ALL DAY!! And their flight did not come in until 11:44 pm! Maggie went home with Mema and Pop-pop yesterday and is ther until Sunday by herself, so she's in her glory right now. As soon as they got home yesterday she got Pop-pop right in the pool and today she is at work with Mema. When I called this morning, she was making "macaroni soup with carrots" out of play dough. Mema is a brave woman, lol!!
Okay, it's time for Fionn to eat again, so enjoy the pics from this weekend!!
