Vacation day 3

This post ALSO sponsored by Cate, who enjoys being awake from 2-4 am!
(good thing I can type with one hand)
Sesame Place day TWO -AMAZING!
Plain and simple, this was the best possible trip we could have taken this week.

We have loved everything about the park.  Even the prices, seriously.  It's the one amusement park that I don't feel like we were taken to the cleaners to come to.  We got a RIDICULOUSLY good deal on our package to come, which included a free upgrade to season passes when we booked our trip, so it took the "oh no...we HAVE to go these days" out of our trip.  We knew we could come any number of our four day trip, so we played it by ear everyday.  We thought we may go back tomorrow for half a day before heading for home, but the weather is NOT going to cooperate, so we're just going to meander back towards Pittsburgh and see where the wind blows us(hopefully not literally)
We spent TWO whole days at Sesame Place and still didn't do everything there was to offer, and the park is NOT that large.  It's pretty small actually (around the same size as Kennywood, but bigger than Waldameer to all our Western PA friends) We never made it to the 3rd show, nor did we even make it to the lazy river or the other water attractions.  We didn't even play on this massive rope climbing area or stop once at the playgrounds, that's how much more fun there was to be had.
Today was all about trying to see the shows, and meet more characters...and of course the
"WADER, WADER"
we were with Fionn after all!
We succeeded in all of our plans, and were happy when we left the park.  In the two days we were there, we only ate one actual meal IN the park(and that was our character dinner tonight)  We had free breakfast every morning at our hotel, and took a cooler with lunch for the afternoons.  There just happens to be a Wal-mart right by our hotel, and a nice BIG(but still mini) refrigerator in our room, so we went and got a few essentials Sunday night.  We chose to pay a little more (but still under $20 a day) for parking so we would be close enough to just walk out and eat and go back in.
Greg was skeptical(as he told me tonight) about paying what we did for the Character Dinner...until the character dinner.
It was AWESOME.
We had dinner with Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie, Zoe, and Burt and Ernie.  Except for Elmo and Big Bird (you went to them) everyone else came around to every table(multiple times actually)  Mag and Fionn had SO much fun, their smiles and laughter was worth every penny we shelled out!
We have not been sure about Disney, if Fionn was ready, but after this trip, I think he is!  He was not scared one bit (just grumpy when tired) and did such a good job with everything!!
So here is day two in pictures, ENJOY

So that's it.  We closed down the park pretty much both nights (it was only open until 8pm) and had so much fun while there.  In the last picture of Fionn I asked him "did you have fun buddy" and he said "YESH"
that's all that matters.
We are brown (mommy and daddy a little pink) and tired, and happy.
All the makings of a great vacation!

Vacation Day 2

What a day! It took us a little while to get to Sesame Place this morning. Fionn and Cate were both grumpy and Maggie didn't sleep well last night in the hotel so it made this morning interesting...yeah, i'm sticking with interesting.
As you can see everyone had a GREAT time once we were there and they were so excited with everything we saw and did!  I'll write more about the trip itself at another time, as I am EXHAUSTED and i'm the only one still awake!

Vacation Day 1

**Disclaimer**this post brought to you today by Cate, who thinks 4am is a GREAT time to play, lol

Today we embarked on our first family roadtrip.  Since we drive back and forth to Erie all the time, we knew our kids do pretty well in the truck, so we weren't really worried.  Besides, ummm, i would like to be a kid again now.  DVD players were NOT an option when I had to go on roadtrips as a kid!
We are now safely in our hotel room, it only took us 8 hours to get here with all the bathroom breaks we had to make.  Cate even did really well, she slept pretty much the entire trip (as did Fionn)
It was a beautiful day for a drive, we thought we'd get here and go hop in the pool, but just as we got here just as a storm did as well.  Instead we waited it out and then went and found some yummy dinner.
The only thing so far that has been annoying about our trip is the roads here.  You cannot turn left anywhere, there are HUGE medians or fences down the middle of the streets, and you have to go through these "jug handle" turns to go left and backtrack.  We've got it figured out now, but wow...talk about annoying.
So here is day 1. I'm playing with the I-phone for this trip, doing a fun documentation with my camera for the everyday things.  I'm loving how it's turning out so far!

So there is is...day 1.  We are having a BLAST(in case you couldn't tell) and man, let me tell you...the smiles on their faces make our day!  Maggie smiled pretty much the entire drive today, and Fionn...well he's Fionn.  Give him his sissy and and a pillow and he'll laugh so loud that I'm afraid they'll kick us out of the hotel.  But it would be totally worth it.  This is what life is all about!
Tomorrow it's off to Sesame Place and I'm sure the smiles will continue.  It's mostly water rides, and water play areas so Fionn is going to be in his GLORY.

Our Waterbug

Fionn worked hard to figure out how to work Mema and Pop-pop's hose...this summer should be interesting!

This video is from the weekend we were home for Fionn's birthday party. I have so much to update, but we have just been so darn busy the last few weeks!  I tried to  upload a few different videos the last few weeks, but youtube was NOT cooperate.  Please enjoy these little peeks at our happy birthday boy!!

Finally Friday

That's right, FRIDAY!!
Horray...we've been SO BUSY this week to get ready for tomorrow...now it's almost here, and there is still so much to do, but we're getting there. Laundry's almost all caught up, house clean (for the most part)and I'm getting ready to start baking.
Thank you, in advance, to all our family and friends that come out for Fionn's party tomorrow. We are truly blessed to have all of you.  I know we didn't give too much advance notice this year on his party, but still so many of you are coming.
It's hard to believe I snapped these just a year ago!
He was such a stinker, he wanted NOTHING to do with the camera...now he's getting better, but he still has mastered the "look away".
These next two were from his actual party last year.
The best part about these pictures are those curls...they are starting to re-appear with the warmer months, and that makes my heart happy.  Cate doesn't seem to have the curls, but maybe when she gets a little older they'll show up.
His smash cake...he really could have cared less.  This is the best picture we got that day of his with cake, def. the only where it even looks like he's smiling at it!!

Here's to hoping the rain holds off tomorrow and his cake goes over a little better this year!
What a ride this year has been, thanks for keeping us on our toes Fionn.  You def. make your presence known in this house, and there is no way you're ever going to shrink into the background between your girlie girl sisters!!  We love you so much buddy!!

Birthday Boy

Our Fun-loving, Independant, Outgoing, Naughty...did I say Naughty??  little boy turned TWO today!  Where did the time go??
It seems like yesterday he was born.  It seems like yesterday that we wrote THIS post...
That's not a road I'm ready to walk back down tonight, I'm too happy enjoying the beautiful family that's snuggling in my bed right now!
We're having a party for him next weekend at home, so today it was just a day with mommy and the girls.  Daddy had to work all day, so we tried to make the day as fun as possible.

We started our day off with a pancakes!  Fionn got "Meeka" pancakes as we got ready to run some friends to the airport.  After the airport trip, we had to stop at the store for a few things.  The birthday boy got a new "Meeka" balloon (are you seeing a pattern yet?) and we headed home.
Big sister helped out by mixing the cake batter for me...Cate helped too...
she slept while we baked!

Fionn had never had beaters before...
he was a FAN to say the least!  Maggie's sitting next to him licking the other one, he's telling her "yummmmmm" and shaking his head yes when she asks if he likes it...
Our house over-flowed with "chock-eee" as Fionner calls it today, and all our baking was totally worth it!!  Happy Birthday Buddy, we LOVE you sooo much!!
