First Day-Preschool Edition

Seems like yesterday
I'm not sure when it happened, when my baby boy started growing up, but here we are.
Pre-school
It seems like it was just yesterday that we were at Mag's Pre-K graduation and then off to the hospital to HAVE Fionn.  Now it's his turn.
Sometime around 3am last night I woke Greg up, I couldn't sleep.  Fionn was (as usual) planted firmly across our bed and he flung an arm over me and I just lost it.  I'm sure his little arm was soaked with my tears but I couldn't help it.  Poor Greg just patted my head and allowed me my middle of the night sob fest.
I was questioning EVERYTHING.  I have been here with him, since day 1.
With Maggie it was a big deal, but we were both prepared.  She had been in daycare for the first 2 and 1/2 years of her life so she CRAVED the school environment.
Fionn though, has not had that interaction, has not been with anyone else (save family) and I was just scared.
"Is he ready, what if I'm wrong?  What if he has an accident and doesn't make it to the poddy?  What if he cries, do I have the strength to make him stay?"  All questions that came pouring out in the middle of the night.

As it turns out, the only time he cried this morning was as Maggie was leaving for school "I'm gonna MISS YOU Maaa-geeee" he cried.  Once we re-assured him that he'd be home before she would he was better, but it only made me more nervous.  I even got breakfast snuggles, which NEVER happens.  I usually only get snuggles when he's REALLY tired.

So off we went, only five minutes behind schedule.
and I'm blaming the fact that his mind was blown because the "trucks" weren't out back.  They've been re-doing the alley behind our house all summer and are almost done.  They didn't come today at all though, so it leaves us wondering if we'll be using our driveway at all anytime soon.  Okay, back to pre-school.

I convinced him to ride, so he wouldn't be tired, and he got out at the front of the school to run in himself.  We couldn't be late, not to the first day!  We only live a 10-15 minute walk from the school so it's easier just to walk down the hill than trying to find parking.  And they LOVE to go out and walk anyway, so it works!

Not a tear was shed, off he went...
Ready to start his adventure.  I was surprised, it was mostly the boys that cried, but not my boy.

Someone else though, was not to sure about this...not sure one little bit...
She was keeping a close eye on him and not letting him out of her sight as we listened to the teacher go over everything with us to prepare us for the year.

Even when SHE got the first kiss good-bye, she was still not sure...
(can I just say that the cute in this picture just KILLS me)
BUT it was time to go...
So one quick trip to the restroom with brother, and off Cate and I went...
even if she wasn't so happy about it.

we'll be back tomorrow with part 2 of this story!
( I pinky swear promise)

This video is from the weekend we were home for Fionn's birthday party. I have so much to update, but we have just been so darn busy the last few weeks!  I tried to  upload a few different videos the last few weeks, but youtube was NOT cooperate.  Please enjoy these little peeks at our happy birthday boy!!

Finally Friday

That's right, FRIDAY!!
Horray...we've been SO BUSY this week to get ready for tomorrow...now it's almost here, and there is still so much to do, but we're getting there. Laundry's almost all caught up, house clean (for the most part)and I'm getting ready to start baking.
Thank you, in advance, to all our family and friends that come out for Fionn's party tomorrow. We are truly blessed to have all of you.  I know we didn't give too much advance notice this year on his party, but still so many of you are coming.
It's hard to believe I snapped these just a year ago!
He was such a stinker, he wanted NOTHING to do with the camera...now he's getting better, but he still has mastered the "look away".
These next two were from his actual party last year.
The best part about these pictures are those curls...they are starting to re-appear with the warmer months, and that makes my heart happy.  Cate doesn't seem to have the curls, but maybe when she gets a little older they'll show up.
His smash cake...he really could have cared less.  This is the best picture we got that day of his with cake, def. the only where it even looks like he's smiling at it!!

Here's to hoping the rain holds off tomorrow and his cake goes over a little better this year!
What a ride this year has been, thanks for keeping us on our toes Fionn.  You def. make your presence known in this house, and there is no way you're ever going to shrink into the background between your girlie girl sisters!!  We love you so much buddy!!

Birthday Boy

Our Fun-loving, Independant, Outgoing, Naughty...did I say Naughty??  little boy turned TWO today!  Where did the time go??
It seems like yesterday he was born.  It seems like yesterday that we wrote THIS post...
That's not a road I'm ready to walk back down tonight, I'm too happy enjoying the beautiful family that's snuggling in my bed right now!
We're having a party for him next weekend at home, so today it was just a day with mommy and the girls.  Daddy had to work all day, so we tried to make the day as fun as possible.

We started our day off with a pancakes!  Fionn got "Meeka" pancakes as we got ready to run some friends to the airport.  After the airport trip, we had to stop at the store for a few things.  The birthday boy got a new "Meeka" balloon (are you seeing a pattern yet?) and we headed home.
Big sister helped out by mixing the cake batter for me...Cate helped too...
she slept while we baked!

Fionn had never had beaters before...
he was a FAN to say the least!  Maggie's sitting next to him licking the other one, he's telling her "yummmmmm" and shaking his head yes when she asks if he likes it...
Our house over-flowed with "chock-eee" as Fionner calls it today, and all our baking was totally worth it!!  Happy Birthday Buddy, we LOVE you sooo much!!

Nothing but Trouble

So last week we were sorting through all the kids new toys that they received for Christmas and putting them on a new bookshelf that we got, and Fionner decided to help out! Yes, this is his idea of "helping" Ahhhh, this boy really keeps me on my toes. Everyday is a new day, and I never know what we're going to delve into that day. I went to feed the dog yesterday and found his "train town" conductors in the dog food bin with some of his "bubble wash" pieces.

This is an UNtouched (shocking i know) picture of how Fionn usually looks, LOL  Yep, yogurt mouth, boogers and bruises.  He is such a BOY.  He has positioned himself between "train town" and the BIG bookshelves full of toys.  By the way, in case you're wondering, we have trains missing from train town, so be on the lookout.  LOL, seriously, we have no idea what he does with them!
